Located up in the mountain ski town of Flagstaff, AZ...The Organic Beauty Lounge is an organic spa sanctuary. Owner Natasha Shea and childhood friend, created a modern day spa dedicated to educating her staff in natural healing and modern styling. Featuring the best of the best,  Oribe Hair Care, Eminence and Rhonda Allison skincare, organic nail treatments, body treatments and my personal favorite...massage.  The Organic Beauty Lounge is a one stop shop for the natural beauty connoisseur or stylish hipster. An organic hot spot where you'll feel like you landed in a cloud of fabulousness!!!

Last month Natasha and The Organic Beauty Lounge hosted an event for Health Check Cancer screening. The salon donated all proceeds of the day to Charity. Organic Wine, styling services, healing treatments, and education on pre-screening flowed all day long. This event is the kick off to repeat as an annual fund raiser for years to come. Fresh and Simple Makeup

Modeling this fresh, simple everyday look is my dear friend Sarah Kirsch. It's been almost 10 years since we've shot together! I remember running around Scottsdale photographing her in 112 degrees wearing a White Faux furr coat and vinyl pants of 1990's from our friends at 42 Saint. Hahaha...good times. So last week Peterman, &  I started a new series. I wrangled Sarah back into the studio to be apart of this project...YAY!

New Work :: October 2009

Inspired by old fashioned perfume cards where models were just drawings. Our team decided to high tail it back to a place in time where advertising evolved from pen and paper to photography. Elegant women of the time selling everything from cigarettes to perfume, chocolate and makeup. Madeline Hall, our model, defines classic beauty with her soft, feminine style that fits perfectly for this shoot. A timeless model, I see a very cool campaigns in her near future. Casey Hagarty wardrobe stylist, pieced together lovely items and Mark Peterman, behind the lens, delivers exquisite images...as usual.

I met HIM...ORIBE!!!!

Celebrity Hair Stylist, Oribe came to Scottsdale. Dashingly dressed in a crisp button down, casual jeans with a silver chain and his talented arms sporting the sexiest set of sleeved tattoo's!

This man has been in the business for over 30's years. Bringing his styling talents to us, his began styling a couple models, sharing stories some familiar ladies such as Scarlett Johanson, Lady Ga Ga, Nicole Kidman, Christy Turlington, Charlize Theron. As well as famed photographers such as Steven Meisel and Mario Testino...yeah you get it. He's the man.

When I arrived he was walking towards me. I turned and smiled "Uhm I love you! from the first shampoo I fell in love". He laughed "your so cute, thank you. that's great to hear. we love it too!".

It felt like a glamorous night filled with wine, yummy roasted snacks and Oribe just being his fabulous self. One thing that I'll never forget him saying. The plain and simple fact ( for any who is a freelance stylist) "It's 50% talent and 50% personality". Even though this man is a genius, he believes it's his freestyle outgoing, honest personality is what got him where he is today. A stylist sought after around the world, happy salon owner of 2 and the best hair care on the market. Oribe's hair care is like "gold". Paraben free formulated, these magical concoctions will heal the hair as well as give your do, vitamin punch. It's a bit $$$ and worth every penny!!!

Joan Rivers :: legend of comedy

Joan Rivers was a delight to work with, outstandingly gracious and very funny.

Styling her in her hotel room. Laughing and talking story. With only 45 minutes to whip up some magic. It wasn't hard on that age defying lady. NO WRINKLES! I know, she knows, we all knows, she's had some work. Wow, it was outstanding.

Back to the show, prepping her Wardrobe and opening a Pinot... Yay! Smiling ear to ear, drinking with Joan. She said "girls, as soon as the band starts I'm gone". Metaphorically speaking, she went into her world to prepare for her stage act.

Skipping out into the audience to watch this legend bring down the house. Joan's humor, it is not geared for the straight man. By any means or if your offended by the celebrity knocks downs she throws out. Brash, bold and striking in her comedy. I laughed in shock at times what she stimulated. Haha.

After the show, I caught a big hug and asked to take a picture. Said goodbye. She simulated tears. So sweet...
